Marjoram
Marjoram (origanum majorana) has a sweeter, lighter, brighter and more floral taste and fragrance than its close relative oregano (origanum vulgaris). Traditionally regarded as a symbol of joy and love (and sometimes lust the Romans considered it to be an aphrodisiac), it is native to Turkey and is popular throughout the European region. It has also become popular in Latin America. Marjoram is a very versatile herb particularly great with meats, but also very good with poultry and fish, or to brighten any dish heavy with onion, garlic or wine.
